Then there is some confusion about which version of C-Kermit you have.
The "version" command tells you the version number.

It sounds like you need manual. In Kermit programs, "connect mode" refers
to online, interactive communication with the host. This is exactly what
you *don't* want in a script. Just remove that command, and also remove
all other commands that contain the word "connect" if you want the script
to have control.
